Meet Abby Tuxedo:
Adoption Date: 1/16/2017
Intake Date: 7/20/2016
Adoption Announcement: 1/16/2017
After many months of waiting for just the right person, our beautiful sweet Abby Tuxedo has found her furever home!
And she, her new mom Amanda, and all of us at Safe Place for Pets could not be more delighted. Abby T was a shy, frightened girl when she first came to Safe Place, and it took someone special to bring her out of her shell. But she and Amanda fell in love with each other, and that love affair has continued to blossom. Amanda reports that Abby Tuxedo (whom she has renamed Baby) is an almost aggressively loving lady who craves attention. She loves to give head butts, lie on her back to have her tummy rubbed, and tap Amanda’s face gently with her paw as if to say “thank you so much for loving me!” Amanda says that she almost thinks of her Baby as a healing cat, because if she is hurting somewhere Baby seems to know it and will gently tap her there as if to lay on paws. She sleeps either on the pillow next to her new mom’s head, behind her knees (Amanda says that she has learned to be careful not to bend them too much!), or at the small of her back. What a wonderful story this is, and we at Safe Place with them many, many years to love each other.
Many thanks to Abby Tuxedo’s surrenderer for her generous donation! And many thanks as well to Dublin Animal Hospital (a Safe Place for Pets veterinary partner) for ensuring Abby Tuxedo’s good health and readiness for her new forever home! Thank you too to Shandra and the other Safe Place volunteers for the Snuggly blanket for Abby Tuxedo to enjoy.
Adoption Bio: 7/20/2016
Hi, my name is Abby Tuxedo. I am a 5-year-old spayed – you guessed it! – tuxedo. I am a shy lady by nature, but once I get to know and trust you I promise you that I am a real sweetheart. I like to roll over on my back to have my belly rubbed and reach up to do head butts and nose kisses. I also like to sweetly reach up with my paws and touch your face.
I was with my human mom since I was a tiny kitten. But my mom got really sick and couldn’t take care of me anymore, so I came to Safe Place. My brother came with me, but he found a great family to adopt him already. Now I am hoping to find a family of my own as well.
But what I really, really need is someone who would be patient with me while I get to know and trust them and love me with all their heart! Could it be that you are that someone special who I would let into my heart? Could you be the one to let me into your heart? If your heart came with extra servings of canned cat food or tuna, I’d love that too. I’ll let you hear my great purr when I get those extra servings in my tummy. I’m extra happy then. Make an appointment to meet me today!
