Adoption Announcement – 5/21/2017
Hello everyone, remember me? I was once called Bruno, but now I’m Jack!!
When I came to Safe Place for Pets in late January, I was very fearful of strangers and would sometimes growl and hide to keep new people away from me because I was scared of them. I am so happy to report that with the love and support of my foster families and my wonderful new mom and dad, I’ve become much more comfortable! I’m still a little fearful of new people, but I calm down and trust so much more quickly now! My new mom and dad walk me around the neighborhood and I have three new best friends: Sammy, a white poodle; Cody, a Pomeranian mix; and Riley, a Westie (who looks like Annie, my friend from my foster home!). I have really taken over my new home, but in a good way. My house manners are now great and I take pride in my clean and neat home – I now bark to go outside and do my business and I bark to let mom and dad know I’m done and am ready to come back inside! In addition to walking, I LOVE to sleep! I love to nap with my dad and I’m so excited to climb – literally – under the covers every night! I’m also not a “morning dog” so I hurry outside in the morning and then run right back to bed! I love that my mom and dad play with my toys with me and I am fast as lightning running around the house, pouncing on my toys! I am so incredibly grateful to Safe Place for Pets for my foster mom and then helping me find my forever home!! I know I’m such a lucky dog…mom and dad say they might even adopt a friend for me in a few months so Safe Place is keeping their eyes out for the perfect companion for me!
Thank you so much to Jack’s fosters and to her new mom and dad for loving and caring for this great little guy!! Thank you also to Buxton Veterinary Hospital (wonderful Safe Place partner) for fixing Jack’s cherry eye and ensuring his great health! Everyone at Safe Place for Pets wishes Jack and his family many incredible years together and we look forward to helping them find the perfect buddy for Jack!! Thanks also to the Safe Place volunteers for making Jack’s awesome snuggly blanket!
Adoption Bio – 1/29/2017
Hi, I’m Bruno, an energetic 14-month old neutered male Miniature Pinscher/Chihuahua mix! Sadly, my mom was so sick so I haven’t been around very many people or other dogs in my short life — until recently! I’m doing very well at my foster home, having now been around other dogs. I enjoy playing with squeaky toys and with my new Westie friend, Annie! I am nervous around new people, but I warm up once I have a chance to get to know you and understand that you’re a good person. I am young and healthy, and I’m now quite proud of my physique since I’ve lost a little weight, and hope that my new forever family will help me stay fit and healthy! I love walks and do very well on a leash so I’d really love a new home with someone who’ll be active with me. My foster parents have been working with me to help me get fully housebroken and I am doing better every day; I just need to be able to let you know when I have to go potty. I’ve even learned to go in my crate when my foster has to leave and at night to sleep and I don’t make much of a fuss about it anymore!
I really am a sweet and smart little guy, but I am young and do need to still learn a few rules. If you are patient, yet structured and are willing to help teach me, please call Safe Place for Pets at 719-359-0201 or send an email to firstname.lastname@example.org to meet me in person! I will be waiting for you!!
