Adoption Announcement – 7/26/2018

Hi, it’s Grizz here to tell you all about my new loving mom and family!!  As it turns out, I wasn’t with Safe Place for Pets long at all!  My mom had known me because of her work with the CARES program and she had always loved me!  When she heard I needed a new home, she contacted Safe Place for Pets and all the pieces just fell into place!  I now have a home with a mom and dad and two human siblings who all adore me!  I have a beautiful home with some land where I can explore – or just hang out and take a nap in the warm sunshine!  There are even chickens here for me to observe!  My mom is just so happy to have me and she says I’ve settled into my new family, home and routine just great!  She loves having me as her “sidekick” and I follow her around everywhere, which makes us both so happy!  She also loves that I love riding in her truck and she takes me with her whenever she can.  All in all, we are all just so happy and grateful to all who helped us get together!

Adoption Bio – 7/13/2018

Hello, I’m Grizz, which is short for Grizzly!  My dad named me that because when I was a little puppy, he thought I looked just like a grizzly bear cub!  I am a 15 year old, female Border Collie mix and I weigh about 40 lbs.  I am an incredibly sweet and loving girl…if you’re looking for a quiet, well-mannered, “shadow” then I’m your girl!  As I mentioned, my dad has had me since I was a very little puppy, but he is now too ill to care for me.  Luckily for me, the Colorado Springs Fire Department has a program called CARES (Community Assistance, Referral and Education Services) and they helped take care of me and one of their employees even took me in when my dad was moved to a medical facility.  What an amazing program!

I am now in a loving foster home, but am looking for my forever home and family.  I have been an only dog, but have done so well socializing with the other dogs I’ve met when my foster mom walks me at Garden of the Gods so having a doggie friend might be nice.  I also love children!  The only thing I might not like is a cat, but we aren’t really sure since I haven’t been around any.  I really am in great shape and seem much younger than my age.  I think that if you meet me and give me a chance, you’ll fall in love with me!  The things that are most important to me is a family who wants a very sweet, loving, and affectionate girl to take for walks and cuddle with when we’re home relaxing.   If you would like to learn more about me or to meet me, please call Safe Place for Pets at 719-359-0201 or email them at info@safeplacepets.org.
