Hi there! It’s Kitty again, here to tell you about my absolutely purrrfect fur-ever home!!!
You may remember me, because it wasn’t even a whole month ago that I arrived at Safe Place for Pets. I have some interesting quirks, the most interesting one being that I used to adore riding around on my prior dad’s walker seat. Every time he got up from his chair I’d hop up to take a ride. As a matter of fact his daughter suggested that I might do well in an Assisted Living Home. Well that’s not where I am, but I do still get to ride around on a walker seat! As it turns out, my new mom also uses a walker! She’s not sick, thank Bastet, patron goddess of all cats, but it means that I get to take rides around our apartment. You can see how much fun I have.
Another coincidence is that my name, which everyone thought they should change to something more imaginative, turned out to be just right! You see, Mom is a repeat Safe Place for Pets adopter. She lost her Safe Place cat not long ago and wanted to adopt from them again. And her first Safe Place Kitty’s name was…Miss Kitty! We were obviously meant for each other, and I think we both knew it the moment we met 😻.
Mom and I live in a cozy apartment with lots of comfy places for me to curl up and sleep after I wear myself out playing. At only five years old, I’m still very much a kitten, and Mom has bought me lots of toys to play with. So I play and play and play until I drop. Then I get up and do it again! It makes her think of a human toddler 😹. The lady from Safe Place for Pets who came to finalize my adoption brought along a new toy for me, and you can see from her video how much fun I had with it. I claimed it for mine before even laying a paw on it!
As you can see, I am a very happy Kitty and my new mom is just as happy with me. I never would have dreamed that I could go from being so frightened an sad to utterly contented in such a short time. I want to thank everyone who made this possible: my prior dad’s daughter who couldn’t keep me but loved me enough to make sure that I would have a good home, Fillmore Veterinary Hospital (a Safe Place for Pets partner vet) for ensuring that I was healthy before I went to my fur-ever home, and the Safe Place volunteers who made the wonderful snuggly that now has pride of place on my special chair.
Adoption Bio – 4/22/2019
Hi there, my name is Kitty. I have to admit that by human terms it’s a really boring name, but that’s what my parents named me, so there you have it! I am a 5-year-old black female-spayed domestic shorthair with claws. I’m a tiny little thing, but sturdy for my size at 8.9 pounds. I said that I was black, but that doesn’t tell the whole story. If you’ll take a look at my pictures, you will see that I have a cute little white patch on my chest. The daughter of the Safe Place volunteer who picked me up from my human aunt said that I ought to be called Starlight, but after being Kitty all my life that might be a bit too much of a change.
To tell you a bit about myself and my history, my parents adopted me when I was just a kitten, and I loved them dearly. Unfortunately, my mom passed away last summer and now I’ve lost my dad as well. 😿 I wanted to be a comfort to him, so I spent as much time with him over the last few months as I could. I made him and my aunt my aunt laugh by perching on the seat of his walker and riding around with him whenever he used it. I also slept with him. As a matter of fact, one story they liked to tell is about the day that I crawled under the sheets and into his lap to be with him while he was asleep and nearly gave the hospice nurse a heart attack when she pulled back the covers! You can tell that I’m quite the lover and good around elderly people; as a matter of fact, my aunt says that she thinks I’d make a great community cat for an assisted living facility. But that doesn’t mean that I myself am old at heart! After all, at just five years old you might still think of me as a kitten. I love to play, especially with stuffed mice and those cool balls that look like little cages and have bells in them. I just go crazy over them! I also like to chase and pounce on things – including fingers if I get too excited. 😝 I ought to add that I had a canine Cocker Spaniel sister named Rosie. She and I got along great together, so I’d be fine with living with a dog. I’m not sure about other cats, but I’d probably be fine with children, especially if they would play with me.
I can’t think of anything else to tell you other than that I have a lot of love to give and would be thrilled to share it with a new person or family in my very own fur-ever home. Won’t you come down and let me show you how wonderful I am? You can make an appointment to meet me by either calling Safe Place at (719) 359-0201 or sending them an email at firstname.lastname@example.org. I’d love to meet you!
