Meet Misty:

Adoption Date: 7/11/2016

Intake Date: 2/2/2015

Adoption Announcement: 7/11/2016

Misty, a beautiful gray tabby and white lady with the bunny-soft fur and loving heart, is now the Community Cat at Sunrise Assisted Living at University Park!

“Now I have lots of people to love and to love me back!” That’s what Misty must be thinking now and that her life is going absolutely purrrfectly. Sunrise Assisted Living, which prides itself on having community animals for its residents to enjoy, had been searching for a community cat for its Reminiscence Wing. But they had to find just the right cat! Misty fits the bill perfectly. She must be a wonderful judge of people, because the very first day she was there she leaped from the floor into the arms of a delighted resident, bringing a delighted smile to his face. He is still talking about it two weeks later. Misty has become a favorite both of the residents and the staff. The director of the Reminiscence Wing says that she “has never met a stranger.” She follows the caregivers as they make their rounds and is always ready to stop for a petting or head rub or to brighten a resident’s day by sitting in their lap and gifting them with her warm, loving presence. How wonderful for both Misty and the residents and staff of Sunrise Assisted Living! We at Safe Place for Pets with them all many years of mutual love and comfort.

Many thanks to Misty’s surrenderer for her generous financial support for his intake vet care and to his adopters for their generous adoption donation! And many thanks to Westside Animal Hospital (a Safe Place for Pets veterinary partner) for ensuring Misty’s good health and readiness for her new forever home! Thank you, too, to Shandra, the Girl Scouts, and National Honor Society students for the Snuggly blanket for Misty to enjoy.

Adoption Bio: 2/2/2015

Hi I’m Misty, a wonderful 12 year old DSH female, white with gray/black striped patches. I am not declawed. I have very beautiful mosaic green eyes. I have lived with another cat in the past, but never dogs. Now that my mom has left me, I’m looking for a new home. I’m a shy girl initially, but when I get a few minutes of my own with you, I am very affectionate and loving. I’m an indoor kitty who enjoys a nice patio for a little outdoor time. You’ll love petting my super soft fur as much as I’ll love receiving the attention. Stop by the Welcome Center today to look into my eyes and fall in love!
