Adoption Announcement – 3/12/2016
Patches, the lovely 10 1/2 year old Siamese mix with wonderful blue eyes has found her new forever home!
Patches caught the eye of a lovely lady who lost one of her 2 Siamese a little while ago. Peter, her remaining cat, seemed a bit down without his sister. Mom came to meet Patches at her foster home, and they seemed a perfect match. Patches is a little shy, but with her new to-be mom, she happily laid on the bed, and accepted all the attention she could get. So a few weeks later, after Patches had her dental cleaning, she came to check out her new to-be home.
Patches walked in like she owned the place, a little hesitant, but with enough confidence that told Peter a new girl was now in charge. Peter was just fine with that, as he was used to being told what to and not to do by his sister. Peter is a big softy, who enjoys treats and fetching them when they are rolled across the floor. Within a week, they had figured out who was in charge (Patches), and are getting along just fine. In the morning they come out to get their breakfast, and enjoy having their own bowls and will eat about a foot apart. They have come close to touching noses a few times, but Patches is just not ready to make the full commitment yet.
Patches has made herself at home. She is not a lap cat, but will lay with mom on the couch, or on the back of the chair mom is sitting in. She does love to be petted behind the ears, and have her tummy rubbed. But when it’s time to stop, she lets mom know “I’m done; Thank You”. She sleeps on the bed with mom, and enjoys her own brand of cuddling at that time. Mom likes to know she is near, and is happy that Patches is happy with the contact. We are certain that when we check back in on Patches and Peter (and mom, of course) in the future, that we’ll hear that Peter has won over his new sister. Everyone at Safe Place wishes them a long and healthy life together!
Adoption Bio – 11/12/2015
Patches is a 10 1/2 year old female siamese mix (white with brown/tan patches) with beautiful blue eyes. Patches is a little shy at first but warms up nicely. She likes to have her head scratched, but isn’t fond of being held. We’ve been told her owner would hold her. So it could just be a transitional thing, where she’ll allow the right person to hold her once she’s comfortable in her new home. She also likes to play with toys on string. Could you be that one special person for Patches?
