Kitty
Kitty came to Safe Place with her brother and sister, Louis & Minnie. These adorable littermates came to us in early September after their owner died following a long illness. During the last year of her life she was constantly in and out of the hospital , leaving the cats alone and frightened. Her sister did all she could, but the chaos was terribly difficult for the cats. The owner died alone, so they were subjected to the invasion of police, firefighters, and the coroner, which terrified them.
When they first came to us, they were extremely shy, huddling in the far back of their cubbies, all in one kitty condo if possible. But since then they have become more social and are showing us their personalities. They love each other very much, but do not appear to be bonded, so should be able to go to separate homes. They have been indoor cats all their lives. They were raised with two midsized dogs, but have never been exposed to children.
Hi, I’m Kitty. I’m an 8-pound female spayed domestic longhair gray tabby with claws. As the Safe Place folks said, this past year has been a nightmare, and I spent most of it hiding. As a matter of fact, Mom’s sister, who was taking care of us, told the Safe Place volunteer that she had only seen me once in the entire year! So you would think that I would be the shyest of the three of us. But after all that time alone, I am starved for love and attention! I’m still shy and really don’t want to come out of my kitty condo, but I am delighted to be petted from the outside! As soon as you say my name I will poke my head up to say hello, and if you stroke me or scratch my ears or chin I will turn my head almost upside down and rev my motor to tell you how happy I am. I would love to go home with you and show you what a wonderful Kitty I am!
